At Barry Tech BOCES in Westbury, N.Y., students planned a holiday celebration for special needs children at the Jerusalem Avenue School. Funds for the event were raised by selling student-designed sweatshirts and sweatpants to others at their school. The students raised $6,000, which covered the celebration expenses including snacks, arts and crafts, games and certified therapy animals. Leftover funds were donated to the Barry Tech scholarship fund.
