Accommodation Requests

Attendees to any national SkillsUSA function can request accommodations as part of the registration process. The deadline for each function is dependent upon the attendee type.

Competitors

Accommodation requests related to the SkillsUSA Championships must be approved by the Office of Championships prior to any competition.
Requests must be made by a competitor, advisor, or state director 1 week prior to any competition.

Emergency competitor substitutions – Accommodation requests in such instances will be handled on an individual basis. SkillsUSA will do its best to respond in such instances, however approval cannot be guaranteed.

Attendee

Attendees to a SkillsUSA function, including student members and the general public, must request accommodations 30 days prior to an event. Requests made after the deadline may not be honored, although SkillsUSA will do its best to work with individuals.

Captioning & ASL Interpreting

ASL Interpreting

SkillsUSA provides ASL interpreters for some featured events. Events with ASL interpreters will be identified on the event schedule.

Captioning

Featured events, including NLSC Opening and Award Sessions, will have CART captions. Selected events identified in advance will also include AI-generated captions. All captioned events will be listed on the events schedule.

Accessible Housing

SkillsUSA ensures ADA compliant rooms are available in each host hotel. If you are in need of an ADA accessible room or need accomodations in your guest rooms, please contact SkillsUSANLSC@hpnglobal.com for NLSC guest rooms or accessibility@skillsusa.org for all other SkillsUSA national functions

Service Animals

SkillsUSA welcomes leashed service animals to all functions. Relief areas will be identified in advance and communicated to attendees via the function website and app.

Animals that serve the role of comfort, therapy, or emotional support do not meet this definition and may not be permitted within a venue, depending on local venue policy.

Transportation

SkillsUSA hosts its national functions at sites that are fully ADA compliant. Detailed information for each site, including parking, entrance and accessible shuttle service is available via that function’s event page.

To request or inquire about ADA transportation at a SkillsUSA national function, please use the Accessibility Accommodations request form

NLSC Accessible Transportation

Mobility Devices

SkillsUSA welcomes the use of mobility devices, including wheelchairs, 3- or 4-wheel scooters, walkers, canes, and crutches.

Rental

The availability of rental services are contingent upon the specific function. During the National Leadership and Skills Conference (NLSC) the Georgia World Congress Center (GWCC) has scooters available for rental. Please visit the detailed function page for more information.
