Pies and Bats, All-American Gifts

Baseball and apple pie highlighted an All-American, barbecue-themed luncheon at the recent WorldSkills General Assembly, co-hosted by Skills/Compétences Canada and SkillsUSA. Culinary arts students at Blackstone Valley Regional Vocational Technical High School in Upton, Mass., baked 300 individually wrapped, mini apple pies for the gathering in Niagara Falls, Canada. To truly paint a picture of American culture, the international delegates also received Louisville Slugger mini baseball bats and baseballs from SkillsUSA, the official U.S. representative to the WorldSkills organization.
