To raise awareness of the growing number of local families with insufficient sources of food, Kaitlyn Hermansen, Marian Yalong and Regina Yoo (pictured left to right) created the #SayNo2Hunger social media campaign in conjunction with Giving Tuesday’s “unselfie” behavior campaign. Besides creating awareness of the issue, the Bergen County (N.J.) Academies SkillsUSA chapter wanted to teach the community the importance of eating properly and provide food to those in need through a food drive for the Center for Food Action. Giving Tuesday occurs the week after Thanksgiving. For details, visit: www.givingtuesday.org.
