The Lowe’s Foundation has launched Gable Grants – a commitment to preparing the next generation of skilled tradespeople. Through the Gable Grants program, the Lowe’s Foundation will provide $50 million over the next five years to community & technical colleges and community-based nonprofit organizations to help prepare 50,000 people for skilled trades careers. This annual and national grant program will provide grantees with funding for two years, helping develop a community of skilled tradespeople to build and revitalize our homes, neighborhoods and infrastructure for the future. Apply now! Lowe’s is currently accepting unrestricted grant applications from community & technical colleges through March 31. They are looking for community & technical colleges from around the country with innovative skilled trades programs that are working to increase the number of young and diverse people in the workforce, especially from underrepresented and rural communities. You can find more information about the Lowe’s Gable Grants program and submit your application here. Note: Lowe’s will be hosting two informational webinars on March 9 or March 22 with the newly appointed Lowe’s Foundation Director, Betsy Conway. The webinars will share more about their new commitment to the skilled trades, the Gable Grants program and answer any questions from potential applicants.
