Specialized Automotive Training Initiative Aligns with NLSC to Elevate Skilled Careers

ATLANTA, June 2, 2026 — SkillsUSA is proud to host Honda’s premier Professional Automotive Career Training (PACT) program during the SkillsUSA National Leadership & Skills Conference (NLSC) June 1-5 in Atlanta. This strategic collaboration provides PACT program participants with exclusive access and passes to the national conference, further solidifying NLSC’s reputation as the ultimate career and technical education (CTE) hotspot for the nation’s future workforce.

The Honda PACT program is a specialized two-year partnership between American Honda, local dealerships, and community and technical colleges nationwide. Designed to combat the critical shortage of skilled automotive professionals, the program trains students to become certified Honda and Acura factory technicians. PACT students receive a world-class education through a rigorous combination of advanced classroom instruction, hands-on training with specialized industry tools, and invaluable paid dealership internships that offer real-world experience.

Bringing the Honda PACT program into the NLSC ecosystem highlights a shared commitment between Honda and SkillsUSA to elevate the skilled trades. As the largest gathering of the future skilled workforce, NLSC serves as the perfect backdrop to showcase top-tier automotive training. PACT participants attending the conference will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in the massive scale of the SkillsUSA Championships, network with national industry leaders, and explore cutting-edge career pathways.

“We are thrilled to bring the Honda experience directly to the SkillsUSA National Leadership & Skills Conference,” said Ron Freed, Business Operations Manager – Manufacturing Division, Power Sports and Products. “This relationship is integral to our mission of investing in the development of the future skilled workforce. By providing our participants with conference access, we are connecting them to a world-class network of peers and industry professionals, showcasing that a career in manufacturing and automotive technology is high-tech, highly rewarding, and in high demand.”

By anchoring programs like PACT at the NLSC, Honda participants can forge robust relationships and interact directly with future employees to build a pipeline of highly qualified, brand-loyal professionals.
