New Employee Joins Headquarters Staff
SkillsUSA recently welcomed Karolina Belen to the national staff as senior manager of professional development. Her work involves creating the overall professional development vision, creating and facilitating professional development programming, and maximizing the impact of our professional development on everyone it serves. Karolina brings experience as a training specialist with a demonstrated history of educational program management and expertise in professional development design and delivery. She has also been involved in teacher and staff trainings in the areas of instructional diversification, cultural engagement, life skill inclusion, digital literacy, and virtual instruction. We know you’ll enjoy working with Karolina, and please join us in welcoming her to SkillsUSA.
Medallion Survey for State SkillsUSA Directors
SkillsUSA’s national office will be honoring our gold, silver and bronze medalists by providing them with a medallion and other NLSC recognition items. We will be shipping the medallions to either the school address we have on file or to state SkillsUSA directors. Please indicate your preference in this survey by Tuesday, June 15. If we do not hear from you, the medallions will be shipped to the school address on file.
Customer Care Team Support for the SkillsUSA Championships
All SkillsUSA Championships contest questions, issues or other reports (aside from grievances) should go to the SkillsUSA Customer Care Team at firstname.lastname@example.org or 844-875-4557. Please also help us communicate to advisors that ongoing communication with their students is crucial to their contest success. Students may share the Zoom links for contest orientations as well as any contest documents with their advisors to aid in their ability to navigate their contest activities.
NLSC Media Releases
The SkillsUSA 2021 NLSC Media Kit includes a link to sample press releases and is posted online to assist you with media relations. A new, editable sample press release has also been added to SkillsUSA’s advocacy site. This template can be used by instructors, parents and others to help get the word out about the students who competed or participated as a delegate or national officer candidate during the NLSC. The advocacy site is located here.
