Member Registration is Open — Join Early as a Professional
The SkillsUSA registration site is officially open for the new 2022-23 school year! We encourage advisors to join early so they receive all mailings and emails. Professional members receive free digital materials and member benefits when they register, including the Framework Integration Toolkit, Program of Work Toolkit, SkillsUSA Championships Technical Standards, opportunities for professional development and more. “Inside the Trades” Podcast Episode Features SkillsUSA
Matt Consigli and Derek Cameron, hosts of the “Inside the Trades” podcast, attended the 2022 National Leadership & Skills Conference to learn more about SkillsUSA’s mission. In Episode #16, Consigli interviews Executive Director Chelle Travis and Program Director of Conference Management Services Courtney Ferrell on the floor of the SkillsUSA Championships for an inside look at running a huge CTE destination event that effectively partners education and industry to grow and support the nation’s future skilled trades workforce. Foundryy is the media and marketing company that produces “Inside the Trades,” which seeks to find the answers on closing the talent gap and making the skilled trades an attractive destination for the next generation. Registration Is Open for WLTI
This year’s Washington Leadership Training Institute (WLTI) will be held Sept. 17-21 at the Hilton Alexandria Mark Center in Alexandria, Va. WLTI is designed for all SkillsUSA students and advisors who want to grow in the essential elements of professionalism, communication and leadership while passionately advocating for career and technical education (CTE). The registration fee is $500 per person and hotel rooms are $180/night + tax. Registration closes Aug. 25 at 11:59 p.m. ET. A promo video and additional information can be found here.

Chapter of Distinction Mega Prize Event
The Chapter of Distinction Mega Prize Event will be held virtually on Sept. 29 at 7:30 p.m. ET. Eligible advisors have received a save-the-date, and registration details will be sent directly to invited advisors via email. This year’s lineup includes over 25 MEGA prize packages and door prizes! Save the Date for ELEVATE!
The SkillsUSA Elevate: Chapter Officer Development Conference is Oct. 19 from 11 a.m.-4:30 p.m. ET. Plan now to attend this virtual interactive experience for local officer teams that focuses on building successful chapters by equipping officers with the skills to lead and serve their local members. Elevate is open to all SkillsUSA chapter officers. At least one advisor is required to participate with each registered team. Participate right from your classroom and the cost is $10 per participant. Additional information will be provided soon.
Request WLTI Congressional Appointments Now
The biggest highlight of SkillsUSA’s Washington Leadership Training Institute (WLTI) is when attendees visit Capitol Hill to advocate for SkillsUSA and career and technical education with their senators and representatives. If you’re attending WLTI, make sure you request those appointments now! Congressional appointments will take place on Sept. 20 between 9:45 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. ET. You can request your appointments by email using the customizable template on the SkillsUSA Advocacy website.
