Explore is the first SkillsUSA career conference designed specifically for middle school students. The conference will create an authentic career-focused experience between students and industry partners that fosters meaningful and lasting connections relevant to the student’s future career.
Middle school students will explore career clusters and plant the seeds for their future. Students will engage in a live encounter with industry professionals to learn more about in-demand careers and build upon occupational identities.
For teachers, this conference is an opportunity to provide students direct connection to national industry partners who represent in-demand careers meeting Perkins V requirements and, potentially, state education standards.
Participants will be able to:
- Identify the numerous career pathways they have.
- Try-on career pathways through interactive demonstrations.
- Plan how they can dig deeper into their future academic and technical education courses in relation to preparing for the world of work.
Explore is designed to develop the following Essential Elements of the Framework:
- Professional Development.
