This is your chapter’s opportunity to win a visit from SkillsUSA executive director Tim Lawrence, celebrity Kayleen McCabe of “Rescue Renovation” and a SkillsUSA national officer. To seize this rare opportunity, your chapter simply needs to submit a video that creatively captures why a visit would be impactful for the chapter, school and community. The visit will occur on Friday, Feb. 9, so be sure to describe the event where Tim Lawrence, Kayleen McCabe and a national officer will be speaking or interacting with students.
How long should the video be?
Entries should be between 60 seconds and 2 minutes in length.
Who can enter?
Currently enrolled middle school, high school and college/postsecondary students who are registered members of SkillsUSA can enter. Membership will be veriﬁed for each entry. The work can be done by an individual, a team or an entire class.
How many students can work on the video?
There is no limit on the number of students who can work on a video. The video must be entered under one chapter name.
Can participants use other people’s material?
Entries must contain only original material (including music, images, etc.) unless written permission has been obtained. No trademarked, copyrighted or otherwise branded materials, logos or products may be used except for the SkillsUSA and Carhartt logos.
How should the video be submitted for entry?
Upload your entry to YouTube at: www.youtube.com. Please allow up to a 24-hour registration process and become familiar with YouTube prior to uploading your video. Use the form at the bottom of this page to submit your entry. Submit your entries no later than midnight EST Jan. 12.
Does it cost anything to enter?
There is no charge for submitting an entry.
Can I submit more than one entry?
No. One entry per chapter.
Can entries be disqualified?
Entries will be disqualiﬁed if they contain vulgar or inappropriate content, are uploaded later than Jan. 12 or use copyrighted material.
How will the videos be judged?
A panel of SkillsUSA partners will judge the entries. Winners will be chosen based on how closely they followed the contest rules, particularly that they creatively captured why a visit from Tim Lawrence, Kayleen McCabe and a national officer would be impactful for their chapter, school and community.
How will the winners be announced?
Winners will be notified directly by SkillsUSA and publicized in materials. Additionally, winners will be linked to the SkillsUSA website.
What are the prizes?
Winning chapter will receive a visit from Tim Lawrence, Kayleen McCabe and a national officer on Friday, Feb. 9.
