Baking Goods for the Homeless

Courtnie Harrington and Emilio Hererra of A.C. Davis High School in Yakima, Wash., teamed with fellow students to create goody bags for the homeless. Each included two carrot muffins baked by the students plus packets of instant hot chocolate and oatmeal, bottled water and disposable cups, spoons and napkins. A total of 121 bags were delivered to a local homeless shelter and distributed for breakfast. The project earned a national bronze medal in SkillsUSA’s Community Action Contest.
