National Recognition for SkillsUSA National Signing Day
On May 4, SkillsUSA schools in 27 states and Puerto Rico participated in a successful SkillsUSA National Signing Day, sponsored by The Home Depot, Klein Tools, 84 Lumber and NC3. A highlight came early when two SkillsUSA students appeared live on “Good Morning America” and were surprised with scholarships. NLSC Scholarships and Competition Support Grants
New to the SkillsUSA Hope Fund this year —made possible through our partnership with Harbor Freight Tools for Schools — is a need-based conference scholarship opportunity for SkillsUSA members and a National Leadership and Skills Conference Career Competition Support grant. NLSC Conference Schedule Now Available
SkillsUSA’s National Leadership and Skills Conference (NLSC) may be virtual this year, but genuine excitement is building. Along with a full SkillsUSA Championships, the conference will include delegate sessions, national officer elections and exciting opportunities for leadership development, professional development and member/chapter recognition. Save the Date! SkillsUSA Awards and Recognition Session
SkillsUSA will be hosting the Awards and Recognition Session LIVE on Thursday, June 24, from 3:30 – 8 p.m. ET in three segments at 3:30 p.m., 5 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. ET. Please encourage your students to watch what will be an unforgettable Awards and Recognition session. If you need funds to host a chapter watch party, apply here for a $100 grant. Grants are limited to the first 50 SkillsUSA chapters that apply.

Win Your Share of $1 Million for Your Teaching Excellence
The Harbor Freight Tools for Schools Prize for Teaching Excellence recognizes outstanding skilled trades teachers in public high schools in the U.S. Read how the prize impacted one SkillsUSA instructor’s program here. In 2021, Harbor Freight will award more than $1 million in prizes to 18 teachers and their programs. In 2020, the prize recognized seven SkillsUSA instructors. Applications are due by May 21. Receive up to $2,500 to Pursue Career and Technical Education
The Horatio Alger Endowment Fund will award 500 scholarships of up to $2,500 each to students who have overcome great obstacles in their lives and who plan to enroll in a career and technical education program at an accredited nonprofit postsecondary institution. Learn more and apply online.
