The winner of the 2019 Marsha Daves Memorial Scholarship has been announced. This year’s winner is Sara Patterson who attends Bossier Parish (La.) Community College.
The Marsha Daves Memorial Scholarship is open to current SkillsUSA state officers who will be attending a college/postsecondary school in the next school year. It provides $1,000 for college/postsecondary education and a supplementary $500 travel stipend for NLSC to a state officer in memory of the legacy left by our champion Marsha Daves. The scholarship recognizes how our student leaders use the personal skills they develop to be a team member, leader, employee, citizen and an effective individual that fulfills the mission of SkillsUSA. This is a rotating scholarship, open to one region per year solutions to problems. This year, the scholarship was open to students in Region 2 (Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, Puerto Rico, South Carolina, Tennessee, U.S. Virgin Islands and Virginia).
