While SkillsUSA members were judging art entries for Red Ribbon Week, Mrs. Annette Patmon expressed a need for someone to help her students study and prepare for state tests. She stated that many of her parents worked one or more jobs or were single parents and did not have time to spend with their children.
SkillsUSA members provide 5 hours of tutoring and mentoring each week with the kindergarten and third grade classes at Georgetown Elementary.
Members review sight words with the kindergarten classes. Third grade students receive help with their academic classes to help them prepare for their CRCT exams.
