Advisor: Karla Rowe/G.K. Phillips
One SkillsUSA chapter has been honored with the Grand Prize for its efforts in the Student2Student Mentoring Program for 2009: A.P.Delcastle High School in Wilmington, Del.
MyiStorybook.com is a website of podcasts of elementary school students (K-2) reading stories they have written into a voice track while viewing their drawings of the story in the video portion of the podcast. High school Digital Media (DM) students visit the elementary schools with Macintosh laptops and record the students reading their stories. The DM students return to Delcastle with the drawings of the students and scan them into Apple's Garageband software to produce the students' podcasts' of their voiceovers and drawings. The podcasts are then imported into Apple's iWeb to create the website and uploaded on the web.
The project objectives were as follows:
SkillsUSA is a partnership of students, teachers and industry working together
to ensure America has a skilled workforce. SkillsUSA helps each student excel.
