Chapter Management:
Chapter Ceremonies

There are several reasons to use ceremonies as part of your SkillsUSA chapter. Training in ceremonies develops basic leadership qualities such as teamwork, poise, voice control, a sense of order when conducting business, and attention to personal appearance. The ceremonies also reinforce basic SkillsUSA beliefs and provide for orderly and effective business meetings.

Officer Installation Ceremony
Officer Installation Ceremony: The Officer Installation Ceremony is used to install local and state officers. See the Leadership Handbook or Advisor's Success Kit (ASK) for the complete ceremony. Make this a special occasion so the students involved feel recognized and excited about their new roles.

Opening and Closing Ceremonies
This ceremony is used to open official SkillsUSA meetings, special events and conferences. See a sample video of how the ceremony might be performed.

SkillsUSA Emblem Ceremony PowerPoint
Most local chapters use the 3-D SkillsUSA Emblem or acetate SkillsUSA Emblem to conduct the SkillsUSA Opening and Closing Ceremonies. SkillsUSA has developed an animated PowerPoint version of the emblem ceremony, to use where time is of the essence or when an official emblem is not available.

Download an animated version of the SkillsUSA Emblem Ceremony in PowerPoint.
