Know the Skills You Need to Take the Lead

hat’s the best way to demonstrate a strong work ethic at a job interview? With your class, discuss which of these responses is the best:

A. Arrive 5–10 minutes early, professionally dressed and fully prepared (knowledge of company, pad, pens)

B. Arrive at least 15 minutes early, bring pens and paper, and present a list of written questions to interviewer

C. Be on time, professionally dressed, and have your résumé and application

D. Show your motivation and leadership skills by asking lots of questions and directing the interview

The best response? It’s “A,” according to the National Occupational Testing Institute’s study guide for its Workplace Readiness Assessment exam.
